Pee Wee LL Boys, 2015/16 (South Bruce Minor Hockey)

The final game of the regular season was in Hanover against a Falcons team the Blades had yet to tangle with.  Having had good success leading up to this game, the Blades had every intension to win this final tilt.  The boys had said they were ready to dig deep and play hard to meet their objective, but the game did not start with the fire we had hoped for.  It seemed as though the day’s events had zapped the energy out of both teams as neither team could mount a strong offence.  The only goal of the game came with one and a half minutes left to go in the third when the last of the Falcons ...

The Blades Peewee LL is a team that continues to play harder and harder every game. Coming off back to back ties, four wins prior to that, and collecting 10 of a possible 12 points, the Blades were ready for another win with only 2 regular season games remaining.  

The Blades had faced the Kinucks 1 team the first game of the season, losing that tilt 3-0 and with the Kinucks 1 sitting high in the standings the Blades had something to prove and were ready for the rematch.  The Blades team has come a long way since game one and were ready to keep their current winning streak alive.

The Blades headed west to the shores of Lake Huron, not to take part in a polar bear dip but to do battle with the Kincardine Kinucks 2.  It was a day when winter would rise up making for slippery roads and poor visibility at times, and starting a week of road and school closures.

The coaches were not sure how the New Year would start after the team had given themselves an early Christmas present winning the last game of 2015 and after an eleven day break from hockey.  The boys were ready to play now that the excitement and treats of the holiday season were behind them for another year. But how would the break from the rink affect the teams level of play? There was only one way to find out!
