Rebels out gunned by Blades
After a strong performance the previous day in Mt Forest the Blades were full of confidence as they would face a team that had beaten the Ram’s  with the same score earlier in the season.  The Blades were expecting a great game against the Rebels as they would hit the ice with a full roster.

The Blades picked up where they left off the day before, applying pressure and playing smart hockey.  Both teams would battle hard, but the Blades would get on the scoreboard first just one and half minutes into the game.  The Rebels would try to battle back but the Blades had a game plan in place that would not make it easy for them.  The hard back checking and positional play by the Blades would help make the net minders job a little easier.  The period would end with the Blades leading 1-0.

The second period the Blades were on fire as they would pot a goal sixteen seconds in, to take a two goal lead.  The Rebels answered back, and cut the lead in half less than two minutes later.  Not fazed by the goal the Blades would continue to play their style of hockey and with great positional play and pressure on the puck, Christmas would come early for one of South Bruce’s up and coming rookies as this future star potted his first ever career goal less than five minutes into the period to regain the two goal lead.  The Rebels continued to press but the Blades would control most of the period getting plenty of shots on goal, only to be turned away.

Deciding not to take the break for a flood between the second and third the Blades would keep up their momentum scoring an almost identical goal as the day before with a beautiful pass to the slot and an amazing one timer at the six minute mark of the third.  The Rebels would take advantage of the Blades as they got caught deep in the Rebels zone and went down on an odd man rush that would result in their second goal of the game.  The Blades however would rally back scoring three goals in less than two minutes.  The Blades continued to dominate the period as they would get one more goal before the final buzzer giving the Blades a 9-2 victory.

Wow, what a great game by everyone on the team.  This was also the first penalty free game of the season, good job.  The coaching staff is so proud of how the boys are coming together and playing with passion and want.  Point getters in the game were, Logan G. (1goal, 2 assists first ever), Owen S., Jon E., Jeffrey K., Tyson D., Brayden L. and Cayden H.
