Blades unable to fight off Wolves
The Blades traveled west to Ripley for an exhibition rematch against the Wolves in hopes to defeat them two in a row after winning the first contest 2-1.  The Blades were feeling good about the level of play in previous games, but knew that this would be a close game. They would need to work hard if they were to sweep the Wolves in this home and home exhibition series.

The game started out with both teams battling hard looking for that all important first goal.  The play would continue to go end to end with neither team able to crack as both goalies would turn away shot after shot ending the first tied at zero.

The second period was witness to continued strong play by both teams until the nine minute mark of the period when the Wolves would jump on a loose puck behind the Blades net and a sharp angle shot would find the inside of the post and bounce in.  The Blades continued to pressure for the rest of the period creating many good scoring chances but unable to find a way to get the puck across the goal line.

Down by one heading into the third the Blades came out with one thing on their mind and that was to dig deep and win.  Just under three minutes into the third the Wolves would get a lucky bounce as an innocent shot from the blue line would catch the Blades net minder by surprise and find its way to the back of the net.  The Blades would continue to fight back and were rewarded with a goal of their own at the eight minute mark of the period, cutting the lead by one.  The Blades continued to battle hard and creating many great scoring chances they would pull their goalie with just over a minute to go. The Blades had multiple shots on net and would come ever so close to a tied game but somehow the puck would just not go in. It was a great game with great effort, unfortunately ending in a 2-1 victory for the Wolves.

Point getters for the team were Jeffrey K., Spencer B. and Rheyd P.

A great effort by all, keep skating hard boys!!!
