Blades Capitalize in Walkerton
Christmas has come early to the PeeWee LL team as the confidence that has been building over the past weeks continues to grow.  With every game the Blades play the passion and desire for victory grows stronger as the team plays harder and smarter, implementing all the little things they have been working so hard on in practice.

The Blades would set the tone of the game early as they would get on the scoreboard just twenty seconds into the game.  Not letting up and pressing hard with two players on the puck at all times the Blades would strike again just over two minutes later.  After allowing two quick goals the Capitals would buckle down and try to mount some offence of their own only to be shut down.  The period would end with the Blades up by two with each team recording six shots on net.

The second period saw both teams trying their best to mount an offensive attack that saw the Blades come out on top.  Great passing, communication and puck distribution would see the Blades mount an all-out attack on the Capitals net as they scored three goals in just over three minutes, the last of which would be his first ever career goal scored by the Blades rookie Chris M., what a great Christmas present from his line mates that assisted on the goal, Jon E. and Kiefer S.  The Capitals would find a way to get on the scoreboard at the three minute mark of the second with some great hand eye coordination by the Capitals forward as he would bat the puck out of the air making it impossible for the Blades goalie to stop.

With fifteen minutes left in the game, the Blades had no intentions on letting up just yet as they would pot their sixth goal of game on the second shift of the period.  Both teams continued to battle hard but with the Blades moving the puck well and “the want” for the puck it was easy to tell they were planning on ending 2015 on a winning note.  Midway through the third the Capitals would have a chance to mount a strong attack on the Blades as the Blades would run into penalty trouble. Two penalties in twenty five seconds gave the Capitals a two man advantage for over a minute and half.  The Blades however, would not let up as they would kill off both penalties without giving up a goal thanks to a calm, cool and collected goalie.  With two and half minutes left to go in the game the Blades other rookie would jump on a juicy rebound and score his second career goal to give the Blades a six goal lead.  Not giving up, the Capitals would take advantage of a sprawling Blades net minder and find a way to bounce the puck up, on and over the goalies legs to leave the puck inches from the goal line. The Capitals would beat the Blades to the puck for the easy tap in, ending the game with the Blades on top 7-2.

An absolutely great game by the Blades team as both rookies would score and six players would have multi-point games.  Point getter for the game were Chris M.(first goal of his career, 2 assists), Logan G, Jon E., Kiefer S., Spencer B., Nolan S., Connor S., Shawn B. and Tyson D. and a solid performance in net by Dan S. stopping 19 shots.  There were also great scoring chances and solid play shutting down the Capitals by Kyle H., Cayden H., Rheyd P. and Travis S.

Good job team, keep up the hard work and have a very Merry Christmas!!!!
