Blades Win with a Capital “W”
The Blades Peewee LL is a team that continues to play harder and harder every game. Coming off back to back ties, four wins prior to that, and collecting 10 of a possible 12 points, the Blades were ready for another win with only 2 regular season games remaining.

Their first opponent would be the Walkerton Capitals who the Blades had beaten just before the Christmas break.  Not taking anything for granted the Blades would not waiver from the game plan of constant pressure and hard work.  This plan would pay off early in the game as the Blades would score just over one minute into the game.  The Blades would capitalize two minutes later to take a two goal lead.  The Capitals would battle back just over two minutes later jumping all over a juicy rebound putting the puck over a sprawling Blades net minder and cutting the Blades lead in half to end the first.

The Blades would flex their muscles to start the second as they would push the puck forward off the draw beat the Capitals D and blow the puck past the net minder twenty three seconds into the period.  Not to be out done the Capitals would try to mount a comeback, but great positional play and puck movement would send the Blades on a breakaway where the puck would once again find the back of the Capitals net.  The Capitals continued to battle, trying to find a way to get pucks to the Blades net. The Capitals would eventually find a way to get the puck deep into the Blades zone where they would capitalize on a rebound cutting the Blades lead in half once more.

Sitting with a two goal lead and some of the players wanting to try positions they were not used to playing the lines were juggled around.   The change in positions did not seem to affect the overall performance as the Blades team would dominate the period.  The Blades would be the only team to put pucks in the net in the third scoring three and a half minutes in and again with three and a half minutes left in the game.  The Blades team did a great job shutting down the Capitals offence and any pucks that did find their way to the net were turned away or smothered.  The game would end with the Blades continuing their winning streak with a 6-2 victory.

Another solid performance from the Blades team with everyone elevating their game once again!  Great job team!

Point getters for the game were Jeffrey K., Brayden L., Owen S., Chris M., Spencer B., Travis S., Connor S. and Shawn B.
