Blades Ram their way to Victory in Mt. Forest
What a great day to go to Mt. Forest for the only regular season match up against the Rams. Having had a light practice in the morning the Blades came prepared for what was going to be a great game against a team that was having a pretty good season themselves.

From the moment the game started you could tell the Blades came to win.  Having implemented things that were discussed and worked on in practice and in the dressing room the Blades meant business.  The Blades pressed hard forcing turnover after turnover generating quality scoring chances early and often.  Although the Rams would get a few chances of their own the team would keep the opponent to the outside allowing the Blades net minder time to see and track the puck, keeping the Rams off the scoreboard.  The hard work would pay off in the last minute of the first when the Blades scored the first goal of the game.

The Blades did not let up in the second as they would continue to stick to the game plan the team had been working on.  Constant pressure, positional play, patience and the want for the puck would continue to pay off. The Blades would be rewarded at the seven minute mark of the second to give the Blades a two nothing lead.  Less than two minutes later the Blades would find the back of the net again.  The rest of the period saw both teams battle hard back and forth with neither team wanting to give up the next goal.  The second period would end with the Blades up by three.

With one period to play the Blades knew that they would not be able to let up or all the effort and hard work to this point would be for nothing. It was easy to see the Rams knew they were still in it as they would battle hard and get the first goal of the period just over one and half minutes in.  They Blades however, would not be phased with they answered back nine seconds later to restore the three goal lead.  The Rams were not ready to wave the white flag as they would continue to press only to be turned away by the Blades net minder.  The Rams would get a power play goal at the ten minute mark of the third to get within two.  With lots of time still on the clock and what seemed to be a momentum shift in the game the Rams continued to press, causing the Blades to scramble. What seemed like a sure goal for the Rams would be denied by a diving defenseman that would shift the momentum back to the Blades as they kept the Rams fenced out ending the game 4-2 in favour of the Blades.

Wow, what a great game to watch and I am sure the boys had a great time too.  A fantastic effort from start to finish by all!  Good work boys and let’s keep it up!  Great job by recovered net minder Dan S., a solid effort by Logan G., Jeffrey K., Brayden L., Rheyd P., Kiefer S., Connor S., Owen S. and the point getters for the game, Shawn B., Cayden H., Kyle H., Tyson D., Chris M., Jon E., Spencer B. and Nolan S.
