6 point weekend
1 home game and 2 away games marked a busy 4 days for the South Bruce Boys!

The weekend started early for the boys as the Bruce Penninsula team travelled to Teeswater to meet our kids for the first game of a home and home series.

The game started in favour of the South Bruce team with the boys getting several chances.  The Brue Penninsula goalie was kept busy throughout the first and was able to keep the kid off the scoresheet until late in the period when the defens made a good rush and made it 1-0.

The second and the third were a lot different as the South Bruce boys kept the puck in the opposing teams zone for most of the game and started beating the goalie consistently.  When the final buzzer sounded, the South Bruce Pee Wee Reps won 8-0 in a real one sided game.

Game #2 seen the boys drive to the far north meeting the Bruce Penninsula team in Lion's Head.  This game was a lot a like the first game in a lot of ways, with the boys keepingthe majority of the play in the Bruce Pen zone, but again they had some solid goaltending and were able to adapt to the South Bruce's teams style of play to make it close.  With th gme 1-0 Bruce Pen, the South Bruce kids dug deep and were able to put together a few solid shifts to get 2 quick goals and that is how the game would end - 2-0 in a surprisingly much better played game for Bruce Pen.

Game #3 had the boys travel to Ayton on Monday night to meet the West Grey team.  The first game these teams met was close until the 3rd when South Bruce opened up the scoring.  Again, it appeared that this one ws going to be a better battle and it was.  South Bruce came out with a better effort than the gam before and put presure on the West Grey defense and were able to get the first goal.  West Grey did not fold and played a solid game and wrung the puck off the post and cross far a couple times, getting their own chances.  As the game went on, the South Bruce boys had a good rush to tuck one in the short side to make it 2-0 and then off of a face off, South Bruce struck again to make it 3-0.  The game looked like this one wasover, but West Grey was able to strike late in the game, but that would be all they would get and South Bruce was able to get an empty netter to make it a 4-1 final.

Good work this weekend kids, with the travel and fun had Satuday, it was a real nice weekend for the team.  Thank you to the Family Grease for their hospitality Saturday.
