Hanging of the Green Weekend
West Grey visited the South Bruce boys Thursday night.
West Grey came to visit our South Bruce boys Thursday night after dropping 3 straight and looking to change their fortunes.
The game started extremely slow and it looked as though both teams were having trouble handling the puck. With chances coming few and far between, each goalie did what they had to do to keep the game close and going into the 3rd period - South Bruce had a small 1-0 lead.
The 3rd period proved to be a whole different game. West Grey came out of the gates hard attacking the South Bruce team but were unable to put one past the goalie. With solid defense and a good transition out of their zone the South Bruce boys moved the puck quickly into the West Grey end and notched another for a 2-0 score.
This seemed to get the boys motivated and they kept coming and coming at the West Grey team with goal after goal. The defense were strong carrying and were moving the puck well out of the defensive zone and the forwards were finding each other with crisper passes creating opportunity after opportunity. When it was all said and done, the boys pulled out a convincing 6-1 victory and now head to Mount Forest Sunday for what will be surely a good game.
