OMHA Playdowns have started!
After a brief hiatus of typing up simple game reports I am
back to give updates on what has happened since the last write up.
The Midget AE boys had to regroup and get their “game” back together. A close 2-0 win against the Listowel Cyclones would see the boys to their first tie (2-2) of the season as they played an exhibition game against the Shallow Lake Lakers. They then went on to play home and away games against a very skilled team of Goderich Sailors. Both games would lead to the boys only losses of the season. The Drayton Defenders came to town and the boys pulled through and beat them on the scoreboard giving Spencer another shoot-out win. After Santa visited all the boys, we went down to Listowel and doubled up on them with a 6-3 win. Perhaps the lack of no school and the boys getting too much rest throughout the day was the reason for the 4-4 tie against Walkerton, but the boys came back alive to finish off the season with a strong 8-1 win against Walkerton, taking them into the first round of OMHA playdowns against none other than the Walkerton Capitals. Game one of the series saw the boys put the final score on the scoreboard to be 8-1. Game 2 is to be played in Walkerton Sunday January 17th and then back to Mildmay on Monday January 18 at 8:15pm.
