Thunderstruck!
Monday November 16th brought Thunder to Teeswater. Zurich seemed intent to get payback on the Blades for beating them in their barn. The game was fast paced with lots of action and plenty of time in the sin bin for both teams. One of the linesman had a rough night as well, falling through an improperly shut door into the home team bench and then took a hit from the puck.
The first period was scoreless for the Blades while the Thunder had a goal midway through the period. The second period saw more penalty killing and power plays on both sides. The Thunder scored to take a 2-0 lead in the second while soon after the Blades cut the lead to one goal. By the end of the second the Thunder attacked to take a two goal lead again to finish the period with a score of 3 to 1. The coaching staff must have had a good chat with the boys in the dressing room. They were on fire in the third to score three times to put another win in the record book with a final score of 4-3.
The points for the night go to Drew, Curtis, Brett, Tyson, Garret and Shawn. The Blades hit the ice again Sunday November 22 at 5:30pm in Drayton as they face the Defender for the first time this season.
