Saturday afternoon in Mildmay for the Walkerton Capitals .
The boys were in the big leagues as they came out for the warm up skate then went back to the dressing room for the prep talk and motivation speech and back out to play.

There was a little more bump and grind today than last night, but there was a a great effort and passing throughout the game. Walkerton rang one off the crossbar than got our hearts pumping. A little later we had a traffic tie up at the blueline that looked like rush hour on the 401 and ended with three of our guys laying down on top of the puck.
Johnny grabbed the puck, put it into fourth gear and rolled to their end with a great shot that just bounced off goalies right shoulder. Bradley had a great pass to Darren but his shot was gloved down. Brad rolled around behind the net a little later, was patient , got a great pass out to Karson and bingo, bango, bongo we were up a point.
In my opinion, the boys were doing a great job in getting passes tape to tape and were moving the puck as a team, not a bunch a guys out playing hockey. They were running like a well oiled piece of equipment from Teeswater Agro Parts ( sorry......shameless plug....)
Period 2 saw Karson with a solid shot picked up by Sam for the re-bound...great play....no goal. Sam, Karson and Brad all took their turn in testing the keeper, but the play got out of their end and back to ours and we were to a 1-1 game.
Brandon fired a great shot out of our end to keep them at bay again. Darren had some nifty hand work to get by several Capitals.
As we turned the page to the third period we were starting it out a man short.

It started off with another puck firing off our post. Karson had a terrific shot with Sam  looking for the rebound but none to be had. We had a face off in our end and their #11 drove the net and scored, now Walkerton up 2-1.
We had moments of brilliance, and some exciting opportunities , but we could not get it by them.
An empty net goal pushed the spread out to 3-1.
