Friday Night in Teeswater
A mild evening with rain for the long trip for the team from Lions Head. The South Bruce Boys were ready to come and play this team they are very well matched with.
The first period was exciting hockey to watch. Bruce Penninsula opened the scoring with 4:51 left in the first with a pass from just behind the net to the open man out front who popped it into our net. We had them under a lot of pressure in the final minute and a half in the first but their goalie was remarkable.
We headed into the second that saw some great hockey and efforts from players digging deep to make something happen. Bradley McGlynn had a great slap shot that was gloved down by their keeper. Karson Bross also had a great shot captured by the glove. Jake Ireland with a hard shot that took the goalie right on the face mask and likely had him seeing stars, but again the puck would not go in. Tanner Meyer moved in fast with another good shot that was again stopped by their keeper.
Nick Hayes in a scramble out front almost tied us up, but lady luck was not on our side.
There were numerous other shots that just could not find an opening.
These are very well matched teams and a pleasure to watch. Keep up the effort boys and working as a team and you will be surprised what could happen.
We play again Saturday in Ayton. Until then, keep your stick on the ice!!
