After a hard fought game against the Wolves the day before
the Blades took to the ice against the Storm in hopes of continuing to add W’s
to the win column.
Dressing a full squad, the Blades would have the upper hand
against a Storm team with only eight skates. But the Storm battled hard getting
a few quality scoring chances only to be turned away by the Blades net
minder. The Blades started the period a
little sluggish yet managed to pot the only goal of the first period.
The second period saw the Blades start to come to life as they would get the second goal of the game halfway through the period. The Storm would continue to fight back as they would generate a few scoring chances of their own only to be shut down. The Blades would continue to find their legs as they would go up by three with five and half minutes to go in the period. Not letting their foot off the gas the Blades would add one more marker before the flood.
The third period saw the Blades team mix things up a bit as players would play positions they had not played and with line mates they had never played with. It was a one man in, one man out approach to the game to help increase communication amongst the players and expose players to new positions. There was even a goal tender change with three minutes remaining. Once the team got the hang of it and got in the groove, pucks started to find their way to the Storm net as the Blades would tally up four more goals in the third ending the game with an 8-0 victory.
Point getters in the game were, Owen S., Chris M., Jeffrey K., Kiefer S., Braydon L., Shawn B., Tyson D., Travis S., Kyle H., Spencer B., Cayden H. and Connor S.
Good Game Boys!
