Atom Girls have another strong effort
The SBMHA Atom Girls hosted the Lucknow-Wingham squad for a Saturday afternoon tilt at the Mildmay Rec Complex.
The Atom girls have been working hard at practise and their efforts are starting to show in the games. South Bruce jumped out to a 1-0 lead half way through the first period on a nice breakaway effort. L-W would tie it up a couple of minutes later on a nice shot to the top corner. The second period saw lots of tight checking and chances at both ends when the visitors would pull ahead with another solo effort to go ahead 2-1. The third period would see the South Bruce girls get some glorious chances but they couldn't quite put one behind the opposing netminder. With the coaches starting to talk about pulling the goalie in the dying minutes, the Atom girls sprung loose on a breakaway and would score on the rebound to tie things up at 2 with 2:58 left on the clock.
A couple of great saves by both goalies and the game would stay a 2-2 tie.
Great effort girls! Remember "the harder you work, the luckier you get."
