A SOLID GAME TONIGHT IN TEESWATER
Our Midget LL boys played a solid game tonight in Teeswater vs Saugeen Shores. It was a hard fought game and a disappointing loss for the team. It wasn't for lack of trying.

Both teams were off to a slow start in the scoring department, as the first period ended 0-0. However, it was not short on action. Lucas started it off for us with a hard hit to the body only a  few minutes into the first period. This lead me to believe that this would be a pretty physical game, and it was. Our boys did seem to have a difficult time completing their passes and setting up the plays, like they usually do, at the start of this scrimmage.

This changed in the second period, when Saugeen Shores drew first blood and scored the first goal of the game. Andy was fantastic in net again tonight. He was stretching out and doing the splits to save everything he could. I saw Jake do some of his best skating this year so far, and Jack was flying down the ice after the puck like a freight train. Tanner P. was playing well on defense, and Tanner M. played well as both forward and defense this game.

Tyler skated really well too. We just need to get him to carry the puck some more (I can say that, as he is my son). There aren't too many that should be able to take it from him! Mitch skates so fast that you can hardly see his legs moving! He had a great run and shot tonight too. Owen and Justin were a force to be reckoned with on defense as well. Both played the body well this game, and with some great stick work too.

Damon and Jordan and Caleb had some fantastic runs at the net tonight, some of which were fruitful. We went into the third period with a 2-1 advantage after Jordan passed it to Caleb who poked it in, with 3:41 left in the second. That sure was a beautiful pass!  This was followed shortly by another solo goal by Jordan.

The third period didn't start well for us, as Saugeen Shores scored 2 goals one after the other early on. Our team rallied hard, and answered with 2 more goals by Damon, and were assisted by Caleb and Jordan respectively. Despite this, Saugeeen Shores scored the go ahead goal with just over a minute left in the game. All the South Bruce players gave it all they had to equalize the score board, but fell just short.

A valiant effort by all tonight, and thanks to the men behind the bench who helped the boys play one of their best games as a team yet. Great job!
