ANOTHER VICTORY FOR THE SOUTH BRUCE MIDGET LOCAL LEAGUE TEAM
Submitted By Kristi Lamont on Tue 10 21, 14
What a game these boys played tonight! You really wouldn't know that they haven't played together as a team longer. Despite a very physical game, they kept their heads on straight (for the most part) and came out of it with a 3-1 victory over Saugeen Shores!

I arrived, a few minutes late to the game, to see that we were up a goal already. I did not have the game sheet at the time I wrote this article for the details for assists and penalty minutes (yes, there were quite a few of those). What I do know is that Owen started the scoring with his goal very early in the first period. In the second, I had the pleasure of seeing Jordon bang one in, followed by Justin's sneaky goal shortly afterward. The passing is improving between the players, and Andy is doing a fantastic job in net as well.

As the game went on, I could see that the team is more comfortable working together than they had been in the first match I saw. The first game was well played, although not fruitful in the victory department. They were playing against Hanover in that match. Someone told me that Hanover had their ice in for over a month before this scrimmage, so I am sure Hanover had more than the 1 practice our fellows had before they played them!  South Bruce lost their first game out, but by a marginal 3-1 score. I could tell by this first game, that our team would be a force to reckon with! Next time, things will likely be a little more even.

I, unfortunately, did not see them play their second game in Kincardine. I hear it was an exceptionally good game in which we were victorious 3-1 as well.

I wanted to take a moment to thank our boys for keeping cool heads for most of the game today.  There is a certain level of maturity and pride in playing a cleaner game than the opposition. In this case, we were victorious, but even in the event we were not, you can walk away with your heads held high. Win or lose, you give your loved ones something and some one to be proud of. Fantastic job boys!

    2014-2015 Midget LL
Our Midget LL boys played a solid game tonight in Teeswater vs Saugeen Shores. It was a hard fought game and a disappointing loss for the team. It wasn't for lack of trying.
