Bantam AE Team Starts Strong Going 4-0-1
The South Bruce Bantam AE has started the year off strong going 4-0-1 so far. 

Tie Mitchell AE 3-3

On Oct. 19th, the South Bruce Bantam AE team travelled to Monkton to face off against the Mitchell AE entry.  Mitchell started off the scoring on a goal early in the first, but South Bruce clawed their way back in the second period with 2 goals from Curtis Ruetz 12 seconds apart to take the lead 2-1.  Assists on these goals came from Rhys Martin and Caleb Hawkins.

South Bruce would add another goal early in the third off the stick of Rhys Martin with assists going to Jeremiah Lemay and Kirk Schiestel. Mitchell would get 2 third period goals after this tying the game at 3. In goal for South Bruce was Carter Schaus. 

Beat Mitchell AE 4-3

The very next week on Oct. 26th, Mitchell AE travelled to the Teeswater Arena for a 530pm game. This was a penalty filled affair as Mitchell was assessed 44 minutes in penalties and South Bruce 32 minutes. Mitchell once again opened up the scoring; however Curtis Ruetz tied the game up at 1 before the end of the first with help from Kalen Cassidy and Jordan Ernewein. Scoring would be back and forth in the second with each side getting 2 goals. Scoring for South Bruce was Karson Bross and Max Jones, with Garrett Kreager assisting on both markers. The lone third period goal was scored by Kalen Cassidy with Jordan Ernewein assisting. Spencer Reinhardt tended net for South Bruce.

Defeat Drayton 3-2

On Tuesday, Oct. 29th South Bruce travelled to Drayton for an 830pm start. Caleb Hawkins opened the scoring in the first on a pass from Clayton Dietz and Tanner Meyer. Clayton Dietz made it 2-0 South Bruce with a few minutes remaining in the second with help from Caleb Hawkins and Justin Fischer. Both teams scored early in the third to make the score 3-1 South Bruce. This goal came from Max Jones assists going to Rhys Martin and Jordan Ernewein. Drayton would score a late third period goal but South Bruce would prevail 3-2. Carter Schaus got the win for South Bruce.

Tough Battle in Zurich

On Friday, Nov. 1st South Bruce made the trek to Zurich for a 7pm game. Zurich came out flying and scored a late first period goal to lead 1-0 after 1. South Bruce fought back scoring 2 goals in the second. The first coming off the stick of Jordan Ernewein with assists going to Clayton Dietz and Jeremiah Lemay. The second being scored by Caleb Hawkins after a pass from Rhys Martin and Max Jones. Zurich kept on pestering goaltender Spencer Reinhardt, but he was there to manage the task, stopping rubber after rubber, making 32 saves on the night. Curtis Ruetz would quiet the Zurich crowd late in the third by taking a pass from Caleb Hawkins to score an empty netter, for a 3-1 final. Kudos to the defence in this game for keeping the scoring chances minimal and to Spencer for some great rebound control.

Beat Elma Logan 7-1

The South Bruce Bantam AE would return home to Mildmay on Sunday, Nov. 3rd for a 3pm start. This game would be all South Bruce as they scored early and often. 6 different players would score and 9 different players collected points for a well-rounded effort. Scoring for South Bruce were Jeremiah Lemay, Max Jones, Curtis Ruetz (2), Rhys Martin, Karson Bross, and Justin Fischer. Collecting assists were Karson Bross, Garrett Kreager, Jordan Ernewein (2), Curtis Ruetz, Justin Fischer, and Jeremiah Lemay. Carter Schaus would tend net receiving the win.
