Atom LL, 2013-2014 (South Bruce Minor Hockey)

What an amazing end to an amazing year!  Our division win paired us up against the Seaforth Stars for a best 3 out of 5.  Lady Luck on our side, we won home ice and began our series on Thursday March 20th.  Well, what a game that was!  Seaforth came out strong and dominated the first and second periods with a 4-2 lead as we made our way through the third.  A South Bruce timeout with about 5 minutes left in the third period was what we needed, because out they came, ready to play for a win.  They tied it up with two goals in the last 5 minutes!  The 5-4 win came in sudden victory overtime! ...

What a season!  This amazing team has played hard all year and it paid off as they win the WOAA Maroon East division series.  They finished their series off today with a 4-1 win against Hanover 2.  This is such a great accomplishment, but the most exciting part is they have done this with no losses in the regular season and only one loss against Drayton in the playoff round.  Now we look forward to the next round and play for the WOAA Championship title against Seaforth.  Go South Bruce Atom LL!

On January 4th, the fine fifteen of the Atom LL headed down to the annual Drayton Atom LL Tournament.  The first game had them facing Creemore and with a strongly played game and a 7-1 win, they secured themselves on the "A" side.  The second game they were up against Centre Wellington 26.  Good offensive and defensive play helped keep the team strong and to bring them to a 7-3 victory and a chance at the championship.
