NOTL MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS
1. This is an OMHA sanctioned tournament and all governing body rules apply.
2. All team managers must report to Tournament Office 30 min prior to their first game for registration purposes. For all other games, arrival shall be 1/2 hour before game time.
3. All managers will produce Official OMHA or approved Rosters and Travel Permits to be checked at registration. These will be returned after your final game.
4. All teams must be prepared to play 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Failure to comply will result in a Delay of Game penalty.
5. Team officials must sign game sheets in the Tournament Office. These must be completed 10 minutes prior to game time. GAME SHEETS MUST REMAIN IN THE OFFICE
6. No more than 18 players per team.
Coaching staff to a maximum of five (5) behind the bench.
7. The use of illegal players will result in immediate expulsion and loss of all fees.
8. Each team shall bring two (2) sets of jerseys, along with all mandatory protective equipment, (including throat protectors and mouth guards). For the House League tournament where teams may not have an extra set of jerseys, NOTL Minor Hockey will provide a set for the visiting team. Blue pucks will be used for all Tyke teams unless agreed by both teams that a black puck can be used. There is no cap on how many goals that a team can score. The tournament convenor will do the best to make sure all teams are placed in the appropriate age group and proper division.
9. All games shall be 10-10-10 STOP TIME PERIODS and Finals 10-10-15, floods will be at the end of games. Only a 5-goal difference will show on the game scoreboard.

10. Standings are determined on TOTAL POINTS, 2 for a win, 1 for a tie.
11. Tie breakers:
1. Head to Head (Winner Advances)
2. Plus/Minus
3. Total goals for divided by total goals for and against. GF/GF+GA
(Highest percentage advances).
4. Least amount of penalty minutes in tournament.
12. One 30 second time-out allowed per team per game in Semi's and Finals ONLY.
13. Overtime in Semi-Final and Final games only, with shoot-out. (NHL format)
1 x 3-minute sudden victory, 5 a side. ie. 4 on 4. 3 on 3 then to penalty shots.
In overtime, if unable to play shorthanded, the non-offending will be allowed to use an extra player. The penalized player will serve the penalty and return to the ice in the usual manner. At the first stoppage of play when the teams have returned to equal strength, the excess players will be removed from the ice.
If still tied after the overtime period, then a 3-player shootout will take place.
14. Shoot-out:
The three shooters from each team must be circled on the game sheet prior to the game. If a shooter receives a penalty during the game which carries an automatic suspension, then that shooter will NOT be eligible during the shootout and a replacement will be named.
The Home team will have the option on whether to shoot first or last. Goaltenders will stay in their respective ends. Players must be in their player’s bench if not involved in the shot. If still tied after the three shooters for each team, then sudden victory penalty shots will take place using the remainder of the roster. If during the sudden victory shootout one team should exhaust their roster before the other team, then both teams may start over at the top of their roster using players in any order.
15. Decisions of the referee are final and NOT subject to protest.
16. This is a zero tolerance centre. Any attempt to injure another player or fighting will be dealt with by means of ejection from the game and possibly the tournament.
17. Game misconducts and major penalties merit automatic suspension for the next game as per OMHA rules.
18. Any team official ejected from a game shall be suspended for his team's next game.
19. No refund after acceptance of your team.
20. Rules governing acceptance are superseded by the OMHA.
21. Teams will be responsible for any damage to the dressing rooms and other arena facilities. Report any damage to the Tournament Officials before using the assigned dressing room. It will be the individual team's responsibility for loss or theft in the dressing room.
22. OMHA Code of Conduct will be in place throughout the Tournament. This includes the Parents in the stands. If Parents cannot control themselves verbally or worse yet physically. They will be removed from the Arena. If they do not remove themselves the team they belong to will forfeit the game. This includes verbal attacks on the Officials.
23. Any team failing to complete a tournament game shall result in that team being disqualified from advancing. All games played by the disqualified team shall be disregarded when determining a team that advances. Failure to complete may be a result of being absent, or as a result of a suspended game due to ejections, or as a result of a suspended game due to failure to start play. If a team cannot be present due to a weather related situation, the Tournament Committee will make their decision accordingly.
