Mite Fun Day Tournament
The South Bruce Superstar IP3 team played very well in the first
tournament for them.
They faced Hanover Orange in the first game of the tournament. I team that has given them problems the last two times that they have faced each other. Hanover won 3-1 but if it not for the goal tending of C. Dietz the score could have been higher. The second game was against West Grey 1 and the team came out flying right off of the face-off. Players had first goals and some pretty passing plays to set-up team mates. K. Schwippl was between the pipes and did not face a lot of shots for the shutout. The third game saw the Superstars face off against Mount Forest and it was a competitive game from the get go. Again, the kids were playing a team game and passed the puck around looking for the open player for the goal. M. Strauss was in net for the win and made some spectacular saves to get the win for South Bruce. The Superstars finished the tournament with a 2-1 record. Every player received a trophy. I would like to thank West Grey Minor Hockey for a fabulous tournament, the parents for keeping everything running smoothly and to my coaching staff for getting the kids prepared for the games.
