2022/2023 Season Fees
The SBMHA is notifying our families that commencing the 2022-2023 season, there will no longer be gate fees at OMHA sanctioned games. The OMHA announced the decision this spring without consulting its members or the leagues. As a result, most centres who presently charge a gate fee will lose out on income that is used predominantly to pay for referees and timekeepers.

This past season the association's referees and timekeepers for the season cost was approximately $11,000. Any extra income above and beyond that is used to supplement registration. Total gate income for the previous season was approximately $20,000.

The three-year average prior to Covid (2017-2020):

Gate receipts =   $35,040

Referees =   $15,480
Timekeepers = 1,829

As a result, the SBMHA will need to increase registration costs per participant for the 2022-2023 season. SBMHA will also be changing our volunteer bond per family and will collect and deposit money upfront this season and all families that fulfil their volunteer commitment will be reimbursed at the end of the season. We are wanting to ensure families have enough time to plan for this increase.

Registration Fees and Dates will be announced in the coming weeks. Thank you for understanding.
