NEWS RELEASE: For Immediate ReleaseMarch 13, 2020COVID-19 UPDATE: Municipal RECREATIONAL PROGRAMMING AND FACILITY RENTALS CANCELLEDRecreational facilities closed beginning Saturday, March 14Municipality of South Bruce: Keeping in mind the health of our community and as a precautionary measure, The Municipality of South Bruce has made the decision to close its recreational facilities (The Mildmay Carrick and Teeswater Culross Recreation Centers as well as the Formosa Hall) beginning Saturday, March 14, 2020. This includes all March Break programming, public skating, senior programs, pickle ball and rentals.The Municipality of South Bruce are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation in Ontario. The Municipal Office remains open, and all other municipal operations and services will continue as usual for the time being.Members of the public are being asked to limit visits to the Municipal Office unless absolutely necessary and are reminded that taxes can be paid on-line or by mail or can be dropped off in the after-hours mailbox at the Municipal Office or Mac’s Milk in Mildmay.The Municipality of South Bruce will reassess the situation next week and will keep the public informed of further cancellations.We will continue to monitor advice from local and provincial medical officers of health and encourages the public to practice good hygiene as a preventative measure.The public can stay up to date with news from our municipality on the municipal website: www.town.southbruce.on.ca .
