IP Parents, Atom LL Parents & Pee Wee LL Parents
Dear South Bruce Minor Hockey Parents,
To clear up any confusion associated with
South Bruce Minor Hockey Tournaments.
The tournament committee communicates with
other minor hockey associations to bring in teams, organizes schedules, organizes menus, orders
food, organizes prize table, ensures ice time, refs, time keepers in place,
trophies, gifts purchased, have food preparation certificates in the kitchen
etc, etc.
The parents of the children playing in the South Bruce Tournaments then help run the tournaments instead of paying a tournament entry fee. 2020 tournaments are Peewee LL, Saturday, January 25th, IP jamboree (blue, white and green) Sunday, January 26th, Atom LL Saturday, February 22nd, and Novice Rep Sunday, February 23rd.
A lot of help is needed to run the tournament including helping in the kitchen, ensuring teams are where they need to be and running the prize tables. Parents are also asked to bring in brownies or rice krispies or a soup or chili. This is the same as every year in the past. These tournament shifts are 3 hours, can take place at any one of the South Bruce Tournaments (some people find it easier to work a different tournament then the one their children are playing in). One parent is responsible for making sure a shift is filled for each child they have in a South Bruce Tournament eg. if one child in IP and one child in peewee LL – 2 shifts. Coaches and bench staff, or their significant other also need to cover a shift. Thanks everyone for your assistance, your help is very much appreciated.
