Sad News from the Mildmay Arena
The hockey community is mourning the passing of longtime gatekeeper of the Mildmay Arena, Maddy Bester.
Madeline Joan BESTER (nee Moyer) of Mildmay on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, in her 69th year. Dear mother of Shawn & his wife Krista of Formosa and Jason of Teeswater. Loving grandmother of Amber, Meadow, Rain, Aeson, Chase and Sky. Sister of Don Moyer, Gerard Moyer, Betty-Ann Kuntz, Marion Weber, Murray Moyer, Audrey Keip, Kathy Campbell and Karen Kreller. Maddy Bester was a daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (Fischer) Moyer.Maddy rested at the Greg Roberts Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be conducted by Father Van Duy Nguyen in Sacred Heart Church, Mildmay on Tuesday, May 7th, at 11 AM. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mildmay. A celebration of Maddy’s life will be held at the Mildmay-Carrick Recreation Complex immediately following the Mass from 12 noon until 3 PM. Donations may be made to Mildmay Minor Hockey.
