Midget AE Blades start season with a win!
On Wednesday Oct. 21st the Midget AE Blades travelled to Zurich. The young men worked well together and it showed on the scoreboard.
The first period remained scoreless until 56.9 seconds left when Kalen started things off for the Blades. Curtis popped one in with 5:15 on the clock in the second and Clayton at 1:24 from Kalen. Curtis hit the net again with a pass from Owen at 23.2 seconds left to put the Blades up 4-0 at the end of second period. Zurich came alive in the third period and scored two quick goals at 14:36 and 13:49 but the Blades were not done yet. Retired goaltender and new wingman Drew scored his first career goal at 7:11. Spencer did a great job between the pipes, keeping the Thunder from gaining a "W" on the scoresheet.
Our next game is our home opener at the Mildmay Arena on Monday Oct. 26 at 8:15 pm against the Drayton Defenders.
