SILVERSTICK FINALISTS !!!
An exciting week of hockey for the Atom Rep Team as they battled their way to finalists in the Wingham Atom C Silverstick tournament.
Game 1 for the South Bruce squad was on Tuesday night when they faced Seaforth. This was a team that they had faced previously in the Seaforth tournament. The team clearly knew what tricks Seaforth would try as they skated to a 7-1 victory.
Game 2 was Friday night against Lucknow. The team appeared to be a little bit tired from the week but managed a 2-0 win regardless.
Game 3 occurred on Saturday afternoon against Flesherton. The group played what many thought was the best team playing seen by the Atom Rep team this year. A well played 8-2 win landed the team in the first place position during round robin play.
The semi-final game Sunday morning found South Bruce facing Dundalk. Again the boys (and 1 girl who is thought of as one of the boys) played well and earned a spot in the finals with a 5-3 win.
The championship finals were played Sunday afternoon. South Bruce faced the home team of Wingham in an epic game. Although well played after the initial shocker of the first 2 goals by Wingham, the boys just couldn't quite find the back of the net for the winning shot. The Final score of 3-2 for Wingham left the South Bruce Atom rep team with the title of Silverstick Finalists.
