Ferrier Custom Homes Novice Reps Off to a Good Start
The start of the season is on its way with exciting hockey coming from the Ferrier Custom Homes Novice Reps.

For the first game of the season on October 11th your Novice reps made  the trip to Seaforth to play a very strong Stars team. We will gage our rate of improvement against this strong club as we will face them on three more occasions this regular season. Our players have been learning positional play "the train tracks " and practicing hard in this young season; focussing on playing as a five man unit. We returned home after being on the bottom side of a lopsided 9-2 score. On a positive note the boys showed a few glimmers of playing like a team and controlled the play for a few very brief moments. Scoring for your Novice reps were Conner Lee and Alex Stroeder each with an unassisted goal and the hardest working player award ( hard hat ) went to goaltender Timmy Metcalfe.
On Saturday October 18th we hosted the Crusaders from Blyth-Brussels for our home opener. Your Novice reps showed more consistent play in their positioning and awareness taking this game by a score of 7-3. Scoring for the home side was Alex stroeder (3), Mitch Metcalfe (2), Conner Lee (1) and Dylan Weber (1). Assists went to Lee (2) and Landon Christie (1). The hard hat for this game went to Christie who was back checking vigorously and playing strong positionally.
On Sunday October 19th your Novice Reps made the trek to Wingham to take on the Ironman. The boys showed real improvement and consistency in their play.
The boys dominated at times pinning the Ironman deep in their zone for minutes at a time. We do have room for improvement and there to bail the boys out during some of those off shifts was goaltender Timmy Metcalfe who made some great saves. This strong team effort allowed your Novice Reps to skate away with a 7-2 advantage.  Scoring for your team was Landon Christie
(2) Mitch Metcalfe (2) Alex Stroeder (2) and Ethan Rogers (1). Assists went to Rogers (2) M. Metcalfe (2) and Christie (1). Earning the hard hat on this night was Ethan Rogers who was very aggressive and consistent in his positional play.
Your Novice Rep team is comprised of Timmy Metcalfe #32 (G), Simon Henry #77 (D), Dylan Weber #94 (D), Connor McIntosh #25 (D), Emery Fortney #59 (D), Ethan Rogers #9 (W), Landon Christie #42 (W), Mitch Metcalfe #89 (C), Austin Gutscher #17 (W), Conner Lee #36 (W), Alex Stroeder #3 (C). Coach Phil Stroeder, asst. coach Trev Metcalfe, trainer Stu McIntosh, trainer Greg Weber and managers Jason and Suzanna Rogers.
Upcoming games include Sunday November 2nd at 3pm in Wingham and Monday the 3rd at 6:30pm in Harriston before heading to Exeter for the 'B' Novice rep tournament November 7th - 9th.  In the round robin portion of the tournament your team will face Caledonia, BCH and Wallaceburg.
