Atom Girls enjoy Skating & Toboggan Party
As promised by the coaching staff, the Atom girls and their families were treated to a Skating & Toboggan party on Saturday afternoon.
Under sunny skies and ideal winterlude conditions, the girls enjoyed the fresh country air playing shinny hockey and taking to the steep slopes of beautiful South Bruce. Four snowmobiles could barely keep up with the pace of toboggans and tubes barreling down the hill waiting to be towed back up for the next breathtaking ride. The backyard rink was full of activity whenever the snowmobiles needed a rest.
Supper only lasted a few short minutes, but the girls stopped playing long enough to enjoy some hot chocolate, hot dogs, chili, meat balls and of course the much aniticipated truckload of FRENCH FRIES!!! For those who have been following the South Bruce Atom girls this season, you will know the story about French Fries. The team rule is "if you pass the puck to the opposing team, you owe the coaches some French Fries."
After a long afternoon of skating and tobogganing, the girls now have a week to rest up before they play 5 games in 8 days.
Thanks to all of the parents for bringing their snowmobiles, delicious appetizers and desserts! Great memories are made on the ice and off the ice!
