MIDGET LOCAL LEAGUE BOYS TIE ONE ON
Yes, it was like a party for the parents of the Midget Local League league parents in the stands tonight! These young lads showed us all how cooperation and team work make for a successful evening, and we are so proud of all of you.

South Bruce lead nearly all of this game tonight in Mildmay Arena, and at one point in the third period we were up by 2 goals. Saugeen Shores came on strong in the last 4 minutes of the game to tie it up. It was an "edge of your seat" kind of game to watch as a spectator and a parent!

It is a challenge for a new bunch of kids to amalgamate as a team. It is even more difficult at this age when they have not played together all their lives as other team mates have. A great big thank you goes out to our coaching and support staff for all of their efforts to facilitate this transition.

It is more difficult for me to write now in the beginning, as I also am getting to know the names of some unfamiliar faces. I normally like to note something positive about each player in my articles, and I am working on that. Thanks to the hockey parents who offered to do up some home and away cards with our kids names and numbers on them. That will help us all significantly. All I need to do now is get all the parents to sit together so we can all make noise to cheer our youngsters on together.

This is what I do know. Drew was exceptional in net for us, and our defense did their best to help him as well. They were skating back quickly to defend and playing the body as they need to be. Our offence was bold and fast, passing the puck and working as a team. A great job to all of you, and remember you will not win games from the inside of the penalty box!
