Play-Offs Started
The Novice Local League 2 team started their round robin play-offs this weekend.

Friday night, the kids were at home at the Mildmay-Carrick Complex hosting the visiting Milverton Drives to start the 2013-2014 play-offs in the White Series.

The kids have been playing some real good hockey since Christmas having a winning record after a slow start to the season.  The game started fast and the kids were moving the puck well.  The skills of the kids have improved drastically since the start of the season as you could see that their positioning was paying huge dividends both offensively and defensively.

The defense was holding the blue line extremely well, trapping the visitors inside their own end most of the game and when Milverton was able to break out, the defense got back quickly limiting the good opportunities on our goalie who played extremely well when needed.

The offense was strong, chasing the puck, cycling the puck and making a lot of nice plays to net the team several goals.  A few good rushes helped the cause and this one would end as a one-sided victory for the kids from South Bruce.

The team then had a quick turn-around and then travelled to Milverton the very next day to play game two of this round robin series.  The other teams in the division are Drayton and Mount Forest.  The winner of the division then plays against the winner of the East side to determine the WOAA White Division Champions.

Game #2 against Milverton was very much the same as game #1, with the South Bruce kids playing well and coming out on top.    The team has started the Second Season at 2-0 and are off to a good start.  The next game is against Drayton.  Make sure you come out to support the kids.
